TV stars Dani Harmer and Sam Attwater will star in the 40th anniversary production of the Rocky Horror Show when it comes to Croydon next month.
Richard O’Brien’s legendary musical has been performed worldwide in over 30 countries and this new production by Christopher Luscombe is part of the 40th anniversary celebration tour.
Sam Attwater, who will star as Brad, has appeared in Eastenders and Hollyoaks as well as West End shows including Dreamboats and Petticoats. Dani Harmer, who will play the role of Janet, was a Strictly Come Dancing finalist and the star of CBBC show Tracy Beaker.
Other well-known faces will include Philip Franks, from the Darling Buds of May and Heartbeat, who will play the role of Narrator.
The musical extravaganza will feature all of its famous musical classics including ‘Science Fiction/Double Feature, ‘Dammit Janet’ and the timeless floor-filler ‘The Time-Warp.
Audience members are urged to take part in the party atmosphere with their own outrageous fancy dress to enjoy the show which combines science-fiction, horror, comedy and music.
The show was first performed in June 1973 at the Royal Court Theatrea nd was an immediate success, transferring to threeLondontheatres before being transformed into a successful film. Many stars have appeared in the show, including Russell Crowe, Jerry Springer and Meatloaf.
