Channel 4’s Dirty Business shines a spotlight on Thames Water, highlighting its role in England’s sewage crisis.
The programme shares the stories of whistleblowers and victims who believe their lives have been destroyed after encountering sewage‑polluted water.
From 23 to 25 February, Channel 4 placed a fountain on the South Bank in London as an art installation.
People came to see the fountain; others discovered it but it got heads turning and people thinking.
It showed people throwing up which was enacted by water spurting out of their mouths.
Drains were also clogged with sanitary towels, wet wipes and other items thrown down the toilet.
Mogden Water Works in south west London has been one of many sites discharging sewage into the River Thames.
Thames Water has been contacted for comment.
