October half-term events guide: From watersports to theatre and Spanish lessons – we’ve got you covered

Unphased by the dark mornings and always willing to jump in muddy puddles – finding suitable October half-term activities for the little ones isn’t always easy.

But roll on the shorter days and Hallowe’en costume making because we at South West Londoner have got you covered.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best activities for your ankle-biters this week.

Watersports Camp (ages 8-16)

A fun course of sessions on both land and water, including sailing, kayaking, canoeing, bell boating, raft building and team games/challenges.

Wimbledon Village’s Fancy Dress Day (all ages)

With Hallowe’en just around the corner we don’t need much of an excuse to dress up, but for a little extra incentive The Wimbledon Village Stables annual charity fancy dress day will be awarding prizes for the best dressed children and dogs.

Multisports Course (ages 4-12)

Join in the half or full-day courses by experienced Target sports coaches.

The sessions will feature football, cricket, tag rugby and athletics in groups based on age and ability.

Bach to Baby Family Concert (babies and toddlers)

A concert of harp music for babies and toddlers including a mix of recognisable favourites like ‘The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’, traditional folk tunes and some surprises.

The little ones will get a chance to roam about and revel in the wonder of live music, while you enjoy excellent performances by the musicians.

Four continents, five trains, six ships and just 80 days to get back home!

Jazz for Kids: New Orleans Jazz (all ages)

Jazz for Kids will introduce the little ears in your life to the world of jazz music at the Royal Albert Hall.

The one-hour concert will see the Jazziest Albert’s Band present New Orleans inspired Jazz.

Moscow State Circus (all ages)

Spend a day (or half day) at the Moscow State Circus’ fun-filled enchanted garden and enjoy a wonderful show based on the Russian folklore story of Cvetik-Semicvetik, or “the flower with seven colors,” by Valentin Petrovich Katayev.

The show will also include classic circus features such as wire walking, juggling and roller skating.
