Wimbledon Stables’ Fantastic Mr Fudge receives first Valentine’s Day card

A miniature Shetland pony received his first Valentine’s Day card from young admirer.

Marnie Walton, five, travelled all the way from Los Angeles to join 33-inch-tall Fantastic Mr Fudge on his daily trot as a birthday present. 5-year-old Marnie and her grandparents also brought along a beautiful Valentine’s day card.

Marnie said: “[Fantastic Mr Fudge] is my best friend and I love him”

The miniature Shetland pony was adopted by Wimbledon Stables in September 2017 and has been a local hit with the children ever since.

There is even a miniature stool where you can sit and cuddle the 16-year-old pony.

Fantastic Mr Fudge also raises money for the Wimbledon and Putney Common Charity and even raised £818 on his ‘Just Giving’ page. The Shetland has even been noticed by top designer Ted Baker for a very special photoshoot.

Fantastic Mr Fudge is very well cared for in his new home by Claire Mallet. Claire spent her childhood living on a farm and after deciding to leave unsettled Zimbabwe 17 years ago she travelled to London and has now been working at Wimbledon Stables for 14 years.

Claire told South West Londoner news how famous the Shetland Pony is all over Wimbledon Village. However Fantastic Mr Fudge is not only a hit with the young. He recently made a trip ‘Lee house’ a local care home where he spent the afternoon being admired.

The famous pony even takes weekly visits to local Preparatory school ‘The study’ to give a helping hoof at ‘Pony club’ which the children always love.

Fantastic Mr Fudge even visited local hairdressers RUSH.

Connor, 27, hairdresser said, “He is the most adorable little thing on the planet. Always brightens up our day” we are sure he’s welcome for a haircut anytime! Fantastic Mr Fudge can also be hired for advertising and photoshoots.
