Young people took centre stage at this year’s Mass Climate Lobby in Westminster to demand the government take urgent action to protect the environment.
The event was organised by The Climate Coalition, an alliance of over 130 organisations, charities and faith groups determined to tackle the climate crisis.
The day began with briefings at the QEII Centre, where environmental groups like WWF and Friends of the Earth outlined key demands, before the crowd marched to Parliament Square to meet over 300 MPs to voice their concerns.
Climate Coalition executive director Helen Meech said: “This is one of the biggest democratic moments for climate and nature in years.”
“It is a chance to show that acting for our future is not just popular, it’s essential.”
