The 10th annual London Rivers Week took place last week.
This year’s theme, ‘Know Your Local River’, saw events pop up across the city, encouraging Londoners to explore and connect with their nearest river.
There were 70 events across the city, ranging from fish surveys and litter picks to guided walks and river-themed poetry workshops.
The event is organised by the Environment Agency, Thames21, South East Rivers Trust and the London Wildlife Trust, among others.
London Rivers Week came to Morden Hall Park on Sunday 31 May for a family craft and river dipping day on the River Wandle.
Families were encouraged to create nature-inspired art with the help of artist Prachi Gawas, while Carol Cocks from the National Trust led a session educating people on the wildlife to be found in and around the river.
