Pubs and restaurants reflect on a chaotic two-years

As a tumultuous two-years comes to an end, South West London’s pubs and restaurants are filling with eager customers despite a high number of daily COVID cases and a new variant of the virus.

Since the UK went into lockdown in March 2020 the hospitality industry has seen both mass layoffs and is now struggling to recruit enough staff.

In pubs and restaurants in Tooting, Earlsfield, Battersea, Stockwell and Brixton, staff and owners spoke to SWL about a difficult two years that shook the UK’s hospitality industry to its core as well as how their businesses are doing now.
