The X Factor final has a rival tonight as fresh new talent from Wandsworth will be competing in the final of the 2011 Young Performer competition.

Twelve acts, which include singers, beat boxers, bands and dancers will battle it out to be crowned the best and brightest young talent in the borough.

The finalists were selected from rounds of auditions held at schools and youth clubs in the area and all performers on the night are aged between 14 and 19 years old.

They will all be hoping that winning the title can be a platform to greater success like it has been for the 2006 winner, Josh Osho, who will be tonight’s special guest.

Since winning five years ago, he has gone on to have a very successful career as a singer/songwriter, collaborating most recently with American rapper Ghostface Killa and producer RZA.

All of tonight’s performers have been given creative help by arts professionals at Battersea Arts Centre and support with their final performances by event producer Bigga Fish.

The final starts at 5pm at the Civic Suite on Wandsworth High Street.

Tickets are still available and cost £4 in advance, or £8 on the door. To book call Bigga Fish on 020 7729 9944 or the Tooting Hub, in Beechcroft Road, on 020 8871 5393.
