Plans to improve access to Wimbledon station by changing the station forecourt are discussed at a meeting of the Wimbledon Business Forum.
COMMUTERS at Wimbledon station are facing changes as plans are revealed to improve the forecourt in time for 2012.
Wimbledon transport planning manager Nick Greenwood and principle transport planner Chris Chowns outlined the ideas and timescale for the work at a meeting last week.
The work is expected to be completed by 2011 so the improvements can be enjoyed by those attending the tennis championships.
Proposed plans include a new forecourt with four bays of cycle stands and changes to the area where taxis wait to collect passengers.
It is hoped the changes will increase ease of access to the station in time for the 2012 Olympics when the tennis matches will be played at the All England Club.
