Festive Brass: The Barn Church

Sunday 11 December

Regent Brass are joining forces with Fulham Brass Band and Richmond Music Trust Youth Brass Band for an evening of festive entertainment. There will be solo performances and carol singing for all to join in with.

 

Furzedown Saturday Soccer: Furzedown Recreation centre

Saturday 10 December, 10-12pm

Get the Rooneys, Beckhams and Ferdinands of the future down to Furzedown Recreation centre tomorrow morning for some top-notch football coaching. From 10-11am for children aged 6-9 and 11-12pm for those aged 10-12. It costs £30 for the 10-week course, but provision may be made for individual sessions. Pensioners Christmas Tea Party: St Peter’s Church, 21 Plough Road Battersea

Saturday 10 December, 2-4pm

The elderly can get in the festive mood at this seasonal celebration, featuring bingo, a raffle, music and sherry and cake. And all for free too. Those requiring transport or more information should call 020 7738 9943.

 

Feedme music: Clapham Grand

Friday 9 December, 7pm (18+)

Tickets: £8

Feedme music are presenting this event tonight showcasing the stars of tomorrow. It includes three acts being billed as some of the finest UK underground artists – The Pins M.O.T, Wonderlush and Moonlighter.

 

Comedy Carnival: Clapham Grand

Saturday 10 December

The Comedy Carnival comes again to the Grand, compered by chirpy Australian Pete Jonas and featuring the talents of Jeff Innocent, Britain’s foremost comedian-cum-magician Pete Firman and Time Out Comedy Award winner Adam Bloom.

New films showing at the traditional cinema this week include the family caper spun off from the Shrek Franchise – Puss in Boots 3D, magical children’s adventure – Hugo 3D, Christmas family fun in Aardman’s Arthur Christmas 2D, and seasonal rom-com – New Year’s Eve.
