WATCH: Wrap Up London collects coats for those in need

Wrap Up London, a campaign to collect coats to be shared with charities supporting vulnerable members of society this winter has been launched.

Running for 13 years, Wrap Up London is a campaign by HandsOn London to collect warm and unneeded winter coats to be shared with those who can’t afford them.

The ongoing cost of living crisis has meant that the demand for winter coats is higher than ever, with many families and households facing financial difficulties.

Figures by London Councils, a cross-party conglomerate of the capital’s borough authorities, show that there has been a 781 per cent increase in homeless families living in bed and breakfast accommodation past the legal limit of six-weeks.

Initiatives like Wrap Up London provide support to such groups and South West Londoner visited HandsOn London’s central sorting hub in Morden to find out more about the campaign.
