Gunman CCTV released after man survives blast to chest and Brixton schoolboy injured in daylight attack

Sawn-off shotgun wielding thugs, who shot a 16-year-old Brixton schoolboy on his way to a library during their attempt to murder a man in the street, are being hunted by police.

A 21-year-old man was seriously injured when he shot in the chest and windpipe and the boy suffered minor gunshot injuries after the gunman opened fire on people, including schoolchildren, stood in the street on Brixton’s Marcella Road in May.

Police have released CCTV of three suspects, who were caught on camera junction of Marcella Road and Serenaders Road, with the weapon before handing it over to another man.

Detective Constable Jo Ross, from Trident and Area Crime Command, leading the investigation, said: “The 21-year-old victim was fortunate to recover from what were potentially life-threatening injuries at the time of the incident.

“Other passers-by were threatened by having a shotgun pointed at them – these are dangerous people.

“We are keen for the public to give us any information in relation to this appeal, who witnessed the incident or who recognises the suspects.

“It happened in broad daylight and in an area full of schoolchildren.”

Officers responded to reports of a shotgun fired in on Thursday 12 May and found the injured victims, the suspects fled down Ferry Mews towards Brixton Road.
