Next month’s National Home Improvement Show is offering guests the chance to discuss their plans on greener home improvement with Oliver Heath, star of BBC’s Changing Rooms.

Heath, who specialises in environmentally sustainable architecture, will be on hand in The Advice Centre to give 15 minute one-on-one consultations and look at any plans for adapting homes.

An eco homes champion, Heath is keen for people to understand that an environmentally friendly home can save money in the long term.

“If designed with care, eco homes can be beautiful, healthy, nurturing and efficient spaces to live in,” he said.

“Eco materials and products will help cut your use of basic resources like gas, water and electricity, cut your yearly bills and also help keep your home lovely and warm this winter and for many winters to come.”

He will also join experts from Real Homes magazine to deliver two daily seminars in the Real Homes LIVE! Theatre 1, focusing on how your household can reduce its impact on the environment.

Other well-known experts appearing at the show include Matt James, designer on ITV’s Love Your Garden and Julia Kendall, from DIY SOS and ITV1’s Daybreak.

Specialist advice at the Masterclass sessions will address specific problems, with practical seminars and step-by-step tutorials on basic home improvement tasks.

Renewable energies, such as heat pumps, water harvesting and solar energy have a dedicated feature at The Renewable Energy Advice Clinic.

These new additions come with the return of popular features such as the Smart Advice Clinic, the Kitchen, Bathroom Inspiration Zone and The Gardening and Landscaping Zone.
