Travellers to Brighton’s Pride Festival will be serenaded out of the capital by a performance from the UK’s ‘saxiest’ Drag Queen.
Snow White Trash, who hails from Brighton and plays the saxaphone, will entertain crowds at London Bridge on Saturday morning ahead of the annual Pride event on the coast on August 1.
She will entertain crowds with a musical medley of iconic hits separated into two 45 minute performances. on the main concourse near Platform 4, where Thameslink services will head to Brighton.
Snow White Trash’s performance will feature renditions of songs by this year’s headliners: Raye and Diana Ross.
Jenny Saunders, Customer Services director at GTR, who organised the musical station performance, says Brighton Pride is one of the “biggest events” in their network.
Saunders said: “We’re proud to once again be supporting Brighton & Hove Pride as the festival celebrates its 35th year.
“It is one of the biggest events on our network and every year we help thousands of people get to and from the event by train.
“We wanted to make the journey to Pride just as memorable as the day itself by bringing a little bit of sparkle and sax-appeal to London Bridge station!
“We have plenty of services to get people down to Brighton and back again, but if you’re planning to travel by train please check your journey ahead of time and be aware that our trains will be a lot busier than usual.”
Brighton and Hove Pride is held yearly in the first week of August to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and promote equality and diversity.
It was first held in 1972 and is believed to attract around 500,000 people to the city every year.
Brighton resident Poppy Negus, 20, said: “It is rammed in Brighton, there is a buzz and everywhere is decorated with pride flags. I feel it is very lively.”
