Home of Chelsea Pensioners chosen as match day charity for London Scottish’s clash against Yorkshire Carnegie

London Scottish have announced that The Royal Hospital Chelsea, Home of the Chelsea Pensioners, will be the official match day charity for the club’s first home game of 2015 against Yorkshire Carnegie this Saturday.

The Chelsea Pensioners will be special guests of the club, taking their seats in pre-match hospitality, before London Scottish host their top four Greene King IPA Championship rivals in an important clash at Richmond Athletic Ground.

Kate Marsh, Fundraising Manager at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, said:  “The Royal Hospital Chelsea is delighted to have been chosen as the official match day charity for London Scottish’s first home game of 2015.

“The day will be greatly enjoyed by those Chelsea Pensioners attending and the money raised will enable us to continue to care for the 300 veteran soldiers who call the Royal Hospital home.

“We wish London Scottish the best of luck on match day!”

London Scottish Chief Executive, Kenny Baillie, said: “It’s always a huge honour to welcome the Chelsea Pensioners down to Richmond Athletic Ground.

“They have been regular spectators in recent seasons and we are thrilled to help raise funds for our retired war veterans on Saturday, January 10.”

Supporters are asked to give generously to the bucket collection which will take place before, during and after the match against Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday, January 10, 3pm kick-off.
