Hundreds gather for Ramadan open Iftar at Battersea Arts Centre

Ramadan Tent Project (RTP) held its 10th open Iftar of 2026 at Battersea Arts Centre on Sunday, welcoming people of all faiths and none to share the sunset meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan.

The charity which has brought together at least a million people worldwide, aims to build bridges across London’s diverse communities, fostering connection, empathy and understanding among all people.

The evening featured various speakers, a Qur’an recitation and the call to prayer with guests encouraged to speak with strangers.

Attendees shared food, drinks and left messages on the wall of hope, reflecting RTP’s 2026 theme, hope.

Watch the video below to hear from the CEO of the charity as well as attendees and volunteers.
