Murder investigation underway following the stabbing of a man in Sutton

A murder investigation is underway following the stabbing of a 42-year-old man outside an address in Typhoon Way on Monday.

Officers were called at approximately 9:01pm on Monday, October 2, and alongside London Ambulance Service, treated the man at the scene.

Despite their best efforts, he died due to his injuries, and a post-mortem examination will be held.

The police arrested a woman on suspicion of making threats to kill; she remains in custody.

The investigation is led by Detective Chief Inspector Mike Nolan in Specialist Crime, who called for anyone who may have captured any footage via their doorbell, car, or camera to speak to police.

He said: “Officers will do everything we can to support (the victims family) and bring to justice whoever is responsible for this senseless act of violence.”

Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain, lead for policing in Sutton, stated that there will be an increased presence in the area as Specialist Crime will investigate.

He said: “Police and the public must work together to tackle violence on our streets.

“We need the support of the local community here; I urge anyone who has information that could help investigators to approach officers at the scene or call 101 immediately.”
