Wandsworth woman accused of smashing glass over city worker’s head given May re-trial at Old Bailey

A Wandsworth woman accused of causing GBH by hitting a city worker with a glass had her retrial at the Old Bailey moved to May.

Stephanie Bowers, 30, allegedly hit Mark Peche twice on the head with a wine glass and then scratched his face after the two jostled at a bar.

The original trial for wounding with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm took place at the Old Bailey in early January in which the jury couldn’t reach a verdict after four days of deliberations.

A retrial was then scheduled for March 23, however a new date has now been set for a one-week trial starting on May 5 to suit all parties concerned in the case.

The alleged attack took place last April in the Crimson Bar of the Babble City nightclub on Old Broad Street.
