Richmond street to become a garden for the rest of the year

A street in Richmond will be turned into a temporary garden for the rest of the year by Richmond town centre’s business improvement district.

Following the success of We Gather at Whittaker Avenue, presented by Be Richmond in autumn last year, Whittaker Avenue will once again be transformed into a vibrant and engaging outdoor space, free for public use, from 13th August.

The temporary garden will feature beautiful ascot shelters, grassed areas with special grass benches, and picnic tables from where people will be able to order from their favourite local eateries, via Deliveroo, right to the table.

A stunning central flower arch will guide visitors through to the garden, with views of the river beyond.

This new street destination will become a hub of activity within Richmond town centre, with the garden also featuring a stage, open to local performers and other various events, making it the perfect place for school holiday entertainment.

The Whittaker Avenue Garden will open on 13th August and open for an incredible 22 weeks as it transitions with the seasons.

Head down to Whittaker Avenue, TW9 1EH, on Saturday 13th of August from 1 pm, for the Grand Opening of this stunning new pop-up garden space.

Saturday will feature a ribbon cutting, free prosecco, and walk-about acts including gorgeous living flower girls.

A live DJ will keep the energy high, a gin and prosecco bar will keep the drinks flowing, and there will be games and entertainment for families and children.
