WATCH: The gallery trying to keep affordable art alive

While original art is not exclusively reserved for the wealthy, to many people it can feel that way.

As art prices soar internationally, a number of galleries continue to fight to keep prices low – while making sure both the artist and the customer are happy.

One of these galleries is BobCat Gallery.

Its founder, Catherine Sweet, said: “I want BobCat Gallery to be a friendly, approachable space.

“I want people to come in and not feel pressured that they have to buy something.

“But more than that, it’s a place to be inspired.”

By hosting regular ‘meet the artist’ workshops, Sweet is allowing artists and customers to connect through their work.
