Police issue fresh appeal for three ‘dangerous’ men who stabbed man in Tooting Bec Common

Wandsworth CID have launched another appeal for information or witnesses regarding a stabbing in Tooting Bec Common last October.

A 41-year-old man was left with stab injuries after an unprovoked attack from three males inside the common on October 12 at approximately 4.45pm.

The victim was taken to a west London hospital and later discharged while the suspects cycled in the direction of Elmbourne Road.

The incident occurred when the victim approached the three men after they cycled past and shouted at him while he was sitting on a bench.

The suspect who stabbed the victim is described as white, 17-18 years-old, approximately 5ft 8ins tall with blonde hair and was wearing a light grey hoody and a grey jacket.

The suspect who initially shouted at the victim is described as black, 18-19 years-old, approximately 5ft 10ins tall with a skinny build and a cornrow hairstyle.

He was wearing a long racing green quilt jacket, dark jeans and trainers and was riding a matt grey mountain bike.

The third suspect is described as light-skinned black, approximately 5ft 6ins tall of skinny build.

Detective Constable Marie Harrild from Wandsworth CID is appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

“This was completely unproved and random attack on a man quietly sitting on a bench,” she said.

“It is sheer luck that the victim is with us today.

“The knife just missed a major artery which could have lead to him bleeding to death.

“We need to catch these dangerous individuals.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Harrild on 0203 276 2589 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
