Man arrested after stabbing outside Home Office

A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries following a stabbing outside the Home Office this afternoon.

Police were called at 13:06 to Marsham Street, SW1 following a report of a man with a knife at the location.

A man was found at the scene with knife injuries that are currently being treated as life threatening. One man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

London Ambulance Service attended and treated the injured party.

Enquiries are ongoing into the exact circumstances of the incident and the building is still on lock down with a police cordon in place.

The incident comes after the Home Office sparked controversy by releasing chicken boxes to discourage young people from carrying knives.
