Domino's staff member with his new pizza

Domino’s celebrates 5,000 new jobs with new ‘fiery’ pizza launch

Domino’s are celebrating announcing 5,000 new jobs by rolling out a staff member’s fiery pizza creation onto the UK-wide menu – which promises spice ‘explosions’.

Chandandeep Singh has risen from entry-level pizza maker to senior store manager and his own mouth-tingling creation The Ultimate Spicy Meatball is to be sold UK-wide as the chain celebrate a huge recruitment drive.

The fiery pizza, which pays homage to his Indian roots, is topped with pepperoni, pork meatballs, red onion and spicy jalapenos drizzled with spicy sriracha.

It beat stiff competition and wowed judges in Domino’s DomiChef competition, which encourages staff to show off their talents in the kitchen.

The 34-year-old’s meteoric success at the Domino’s Birmingham – Smethwick branch in Smethwick, West Midlands, is all the more incredible given he only started working for the company five years ago in May 2018.

He’s worked his way up the ranks from pizza maker to pizza creator – and will see his creations gobbled down across the UK.

The Ultimate Spicy Meatball pizza celebrates the chain’s announcement that they’ve created 5,000 new roles across the UK and Ireland.

Chandandeep, from Smethwick, West Midlands said: “Being Indian, I wanted to bring part of my heritage to the Domino’s menu.

“My culture thrives off spice and I love adding fiery twists to experiment with food at home.

“I want people to experience an explosion of flavour in their mouth and The Ultimate Spicy Meatball does just that.

“It was a huge surprise to see my pizza shortlisted in the competition, let alone chosen to roll out in stores across the UK and Ireland.

“They’re classic ingredients Domino’s fans know and love – but this combination will leave tastebuds tingling.”

Expanding its roster of pizza makers and looking for the next culinary masterpiece from staff, Domino’s is hiring 5,000 new roles across the UK and Ireland this month.

Offering long-term career development, more than 90% of store managers begin their Domino’s journey as a delivery driver or pizza chef.

Employees can even go on to become franchise partners through Domino’s HomeGrown Heroes programme.

Chandandeep said: “There’s never a dull moment working at Domino’s. The energy between the team is unmatched to anywhere else and I love being part of a squad where we’re all in it together – more so during those busy moments as we have each other’s backs.

“There are opportunities to grow your career with a clear progression path from the very first day and with exciting initiatives like DomiChef.”

Chief Operating Officer at Domino’s Pizza Group, Nicola Frampton, said: “Following a very successful first six months, we’re anticipating huge demand in the second half of the year as momentum builds and we head into our peak season.

“With the acceleration of new store openings and the success of the Domino’s app, we’re looking to boost our talent pool with hardworking and committed people to meet growing demand.

“We can’t wait to welcome 5,000 more people into the Domino’s team.”
