Corin Tooting: New cocktail rooftop bar offering Jazz and Blues music opens in Tooting Broadway

Corin Tooting, a hidden, discreet 21-and-over venue, opened their doors to a packed house last weekend accompanied with live music.

James Corin, the owner, envisioned it to be a premium style offering for people in south west London without needing to go into central London.

Corin will feature live jazz and blues to old school soul music – as well as premium cocktails and table service to those on the rooftop terrace.

Jasmine Negroni, office and events manager said: “James wanted a place where friends and family could go and enjoy.

“When the sun’s out, it feels like a rooftop bar in LA or Barcelona with all the live music on offer.”

Located opposite Tooting Broadway underground station, Corin fairly elusive, squeezed between a Wetherspoons and Merkur Slots.

Corin was fully booked out for the opening weekend with local businesses supporting the launch and on Sunday a resident blue’s trio performed outside.

The aesthetics go hand-in-hand with the menu, Corin has partnered with Birmingham-based restaurant ROZU that offers Pan-Asian cuisine that complements the house cocktails.

Bar manager Christian Forde who created and crafted all the house cocktails wanted to use alcohol distilled in London to make their drinks sustainable.

Corin’s stocks the likes of Graveney Gin, Southwest London’s award-winning gin and Sapling Spirits, who plant one tree for every bottle that is bought.

Six of the nine house cocktails use alcohol from East London Liquor Company, who make gin, vodka, rum, and single malt whisky.

TJ, deputy manager said: “More than anything else, come in to try the bespoke cocktails made by Christian.”

TJ recommended people to try the ‘I’m Shellfish’ a cocktail with East London Rarer than Demerara Rum, oyster honey syrup and sweet oh sweet Vermouth.

At the moment, Corin is open on Wednesday to Sunday each week but as things progress, it is looking to be open every day of the week.
