National treasure Clare Balding chats rambling, live performances and her ‘world-changing’ book

Clare Balding, Ian McEwan and The Wombles were just some of the star attractions at this year’s Wimbledon Book Festival.

Clare launched her latest book Walking Home: My family and other rambles which explores her life, love, family and sport through the prism of rambling.

During the launch Balding spoke of walking as a form of meditation and championed initiatives such as walking bereavement groups and walking business meetings as an alternative to boardroom pressure.

In addition Paul Merton, Alexander McCall Smith and David Starkey also gave talks.

Check back tomorrow to see our full interview with Clare Balding.
