Commuter delays after man hit by train at Raynes Park – Waterloo and Wimbledon services affected

Commuters travelling through Wimbledon are experiencing delays of up to two hours after a person was struck and killed by a train at Raynes Park Station this morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 6.40am – police are not treating it as suspicious.

A South West Trains spokesman said that commuters could experience long delays – up until 2.30pm today – and advised passengers to use other Underground routes to avoid the station.

A South West Trains spokesman said: “Services are disrupted this morning after a person was hit by a train shortly after 6.30, near Raynes Park.

“Our first thoughts are with the family of the person involved.

“The line has now reopened however there will be some residual delays while services recover. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
