A FESTIVAL celebrating age has rolled into Merton once more for its seventh year.

Co-ordinated by Age Concern Merton, the Celebrating Age Festival’s activities are available to everyone over the age of 50. It runs until Sunday, September 27.

New to the festival this year at the Raynes Park Library, is yoga. The next class is on Thursday September 17 and runs for two hours from 10am.

Should newcomers enjoy the class, there are further sessions for over-50s at The All Saints Centre, Merton, every Friday at 10.30am.

Other events of the 150 on offer include health, gardening, dancing, outings and the chance to improve your computer skills.

Lynn Bainbridge, Chief Executive of Age Concern Merton, said: “This festival aims to celebrate those over the age of 50 and the many volunteers who contribute to our borough.

“It will also inform our community of all that is available to older people, encouraging a healthy lifestyle in both mental and physical aspects.”

For more information on up-coming events, including transport and car parking facilities, call the festival line on 0208 545 4712, or visit www.merton.gov.uk/celebratingage .
