The government granted emergency licences for all pubs across the country to stay open until 5am ahead of the England‘s World Cup game against Mexico on Sunday.
The kick-off time was scheduled for 1am, later than many of the other matches.
Being a Sunday night coupled with all the logistics of staffing for a late-night shift they are seldom used to, SW Londoner wanted to find out if pubs were planning to take advantage of the relaxing of rules.
For some the decision was obvious, but for others the pay-off wasn’t worth the cost of trying to accommodate it.
