On the first weekend of July, the embankment in Hammersmith and Fulham transformed to host two days of entertainment, performances and exhibitions.
Called the Riverside Weekend, it was advertised as a way to celebrate summer and enjoy games, music and artistry as a local community.
The William Morris Society Museum put on an Artisan Market to celebrate Morris’s life through artists that are still inspired by him today, shown through their work.
Gabriella Esser, director of the William Morris Society, spoke of how exciting it was to bring together all kinds of creative ideas in one market, even operating the printing press that Morris had used when he was alive.
There were also various musical performances throughout the day, as well as entertainers for children and games to keep people busy.
Vicci Kats, a South African singer and busker, performed a variety of covers and spoke of how much she had enjoyed the day.
She explained why busking is such a brilliant way to perform and meet people, and how it took some bravery to give up her ‘day job’ and commit to music full time.
