Upcycling classes in Shepperton are not just helping women make friendships but also inspiring them to get creative with recycled materials.
Jacqui Collins started Vintage Chic Reloved to create a space where women could get together and help each other both in their creations and through community.
The classes take place a couple of times a month and are for small groups of women looking to get hands on and gain new skills in a creative outlet.
Attendees use recycled materials to redesign things that they would have otherwise thrown out or given to charity.
Women have upcycled old lampshades, painted old furniture and redesigned old heeled shoes in Jacqui’s workshop.
One frequent attendee, Hannah Robison said: “It is great to get out of the routine of the 9-5, do something different and break up every day life.”
