WATCH: Unite the Union marches across London for workers’ rights

Unite the Union rallied across London to support workers’ rights in celebration of the 1926 General Strike.

100 years ago, over a million and a half British workers downed tools in an unsuccessful attempt to improve their wages and conditions.

The protest started with speakers at the Marx Memorial Library, before demonstrators walked across central London to a rally at Trafalgar Square.

South West Londoner spoke to two organisers of the event, Sarah Woolley and Gawain Little, the President and General Secretary of the General Federation of Trade Unions respectively.
