WATCH: Is cinema still alive in the age of streaming?

There are signs that the film industry may finally be bouncing back. Industry insiders, filmmakers and cinema lovers are hopeful that movie theatres could be entering a new golden era.

The recent deal for Paramount Skydance to acquire Warner Discovery, after a fierce bidding war with Netflix, seems to consolidate this trend.

But at the same time, streaming services have transformed the way we watch films.

With relatively low subscription prices and the convenience of watching at home, more people are choosing streaming over the big screen. So the question is: does the cinema still offer something we can’t get at home?
