WATCH: Refettorio Felix – tackling social isolation and inequality in Kensington

In the heart of Earl’s Court is a community hub that provides three-course meals from surplus food and mental health services to those in need.

In 2017, Michelin star chef Massimo Bottura launched Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert’s Church in collaboration with the food waste non-profit Food for Soul.

Bottura wanted to create a beautiful space because he sees beauty and the act of sharing a meal as something that can bring people dignity.

Support worker Evan said: “It’s about tackling social isolation, giving people the right to be seen and providing nutritious meals.”

However, they rely almost entirely on donations to stay afloat.

This Friday, guests are invited to an evening of food, live music and cabaret featuring classic show tunes and soulful ballads from local talent in support of the Earls Court Community Trust.
