The Blue Bishops: Crawdaddy Club Richmond

Horse Riding Open Day: Wimbledon Village Stables

Come along and meet some of the instructors/horses at WV Stables. Have a coffee, meet the team, watch a lesson, and find out how the Membership scheme works.  The day will be set in a relaxed informal environment and you will meet other like-minded potential riders. Feel free to come alone or with a group of friends. There will be absolutely no obligation for you to sign up for any rides or lessons. Numbers are limited so sign up soon.

The Paintings of Hassan El Glaoui and Winston Churchill brings together for the first time a unique collection of work by the two painters:  Churchill first visited the Moroccan city of Marrakech in 1935 and was inspired to produce many paintings of its buildings and people.  Through these trips he befriended Hadj Thami El-Glaoui, the Pasha of Marrakech.  Churchill’s influence had significant results. Hassan El Glaoui was the first Moroccan artist to establish an international reputation and today his work is among the most sought after contemporary North African art in the world.

Historic Photographs of London & the Borough of Wandsworth: Wandsworth Museum

Thursday 8th March

Tickets: £4 (£3 concession). Free for children under six.

Wandsworth Museum presents Portrait of London, an exhibition of more than 60 fascinating historic images from both the Museum of London and Wandsworth Museum, never before seen together.

Exhibition highlights include a captivating photo of a suffragette stand at the Women’s Exhibition of 1909 and a view of Trafalgar square from 1857 taken by Roger Fenton, who is regarded as the most popular and influential British photographer of the 1850s.

The selection of historic photos are drawn from all reaches of the borough: Balham, Battersea, Earlsfield, Putney, Roehampton, Southfields, Tooting and Wandsworth.
