‘Testament to staff’s incredible dedication and expertise’: Roehampton mental health hospital scoops highest quality inspection rating

Roehampton mental health hospital The Priory has been awarded the highest quality rating in its latest inspection.

Following a visit from the Care Quality Commission, the South West London hospital met all the required standards regarding respecting service users, supporting workers, managing the welfare of patients and monitoring the quality of care provided.

The report noted that patients ‘spoke positively about the support they received… people told us that they felt staff were skilled and caring’.

“People told us that they felt staff were skilled and caring.”

Managing Director of Priory Group’s Healthcare division, Trevor Torrington, said: “Providing the highest quality of care is our top priority.

“This is a very positive inspection report and is testament to the incredible dedication and expertise of our leading staff at Priory Hospital Roehampton.”

The inspector highlighted that on the hospital’s West Wing, which accommodates people receiving treatment for additions and adults with eating disorders, there was a family support group which meant people and their families were involved in the care and treatment that they received.

Speaking to the inspector, one service user on West Wing said they had a ‘very positive stay’ while another said staff were ‘really caring’.
