Non-League preview: Sutton United face tricky trip to Basingstoke Town as they look to address poor league form

Sutton United visit Basingstoke Town on Saturday in the Conference South without a win in five league games.

United’s last league victory was away at Farnborough on October 18 but they did get some cheer last weekend when they knocked Hereford United out of the FA Trophy with a 2-1 victory.

Tomorrow’s opponents are enjoying a more successful season, sitting in the play-off places, seven points ahead of 16th-placed Sutton.

Meanwhile in the Ryman Premier, Met Police’s home fixture with Canvey Island has been postponed because of a floodlight failure during a youth team game on Thursday night.

Kingstonian entertain Leatherhead in a mid-table clash looking to improve on their home form which has brought them only two wins at Kingsmeadow all season.

Seventh plays eighth in Ryman South as Tooting & Mitcham aim to move into the play-off places when they visit South Park, while Carshalton Athletic have a mid-table fixture at Worthing.

There is a derby of sorts as Walton & Hersham take on Corinthian Casuals, who have lost ten games already this season – the most out of any team in the top half of the table.

Bottom of the table Walton Casuals will be hoping to add to their three league wins all season as they make the trip to the Channel Islands to face fellow relegation candidates Guernsey.

Elsewhere, Colliers Wood United will be looking to make the last 32 of the FA Vase as they host Lingfield in the third round.

In the Combined Counties League, Raynes Park Vale host promotion hopefuls Hartley Wintney.
