Backhand it like Beckham! Romeo tipped to be next Andy Murray and gain Wimbledon glory

David Beckham’s 12-year-old son Romeo is being touted as the new Andy Murray by Irish bookies Paddy Power.

With ‘big things’ expected from the Burberry model by tennis coach John Johnson the colourful bookmakers have opened the betting on his future success.

He’s 200/1 to win a Grand Slam and 300/1 to snatch a trophy on home soil by bagging the men’s Wimbledon title.

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “If you want a career pick me up, I wouldn’t advise looking over Romeo’s CV – he’s 12, signed to Arsenal, a Burberry model and tipped for tennis success, the jammy little rascal.”

If Romeo does make it then Murray mound might be up for a change and the bookmaker have it at 300/1 for the famous mound of mud to be renamed Romeo’s Rise in the not too distant future.

Keeping it in the family the bookies have it at 40/1 that former Spice Girl and mum Victoria Beckham will capitalise on his success by launching an Adidas by Victoria Beckham tennis wear collection.
