Ruff day? Get Barking Fit at Battersea Park’s first doggie and me exercise class

Every dog has his day and at Battersea Park that day is a Thursday.

Eager exercisers both young and old are invited to join ‘Barking Fit’ classes with their poochy partners for a morning of sprinting, stretching and squatting.

The American craze has pawed its way over the Atlantic thanks to qualified group fitness trainer Georgina Jackson-Sytner, whose structured cardio and class will have you and your pup panting.

During this novel twist on the classic ‘walkies’, devoted dog owners combine high intensity training and cardio, such as power walks and jogs, while Rover and the rest of the happy hounds are free to watch and play among themselves.

Georgina said: “They find it hilariously funny watching their owners exercise.”

Accessible to all ages and fitness levels, the class provides the perfect opportunity to save time combining exercise for both owner and man’s best friend alike.

“Exercising with your dog is more fun too,” Georgina added.

Surely that’s enough to set tails wagging?

Jog with your dog at the drop in-class every Thursday at 9.30am, meeting at the Battersea Park Pagoda, further details are available on the Barking Fit website.
