Dreamboats and Petticoats is coming to New Wimbledon Theatre next week as part of its current UK tour.

The rock n roll musical will feature special guest star Mark Wynter, who had nine singles chart hits in the 1960s and starred in the show at Wyndham’s Theatre last winter.

In the mid 60’s, the pop star performed in his first musical, Phil the Fluter, and has never looked back, performing in Charlie Girl, Phantom of the Opera, Cats, South Pacific and many more.

As well as playing the father of a wannabe pop star in the show, he will also play himself every night for the finale of the show, when for the first time in five decades he will sing his hits including Venus in Blue Jeans and Go Away Little Girl.

The musical, which features some of the greatest songs of the rock n roll era, premiered in Bromley in 2009 and has now played to more than two million people across the UK.

Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather, the show follows two young musicians Norman and Bobby who compete to win a national song writing competition.

The show runs from July 29 to August 3. Tickets can be purchased at  www.atgtickets.com/wimbledon  or by calling 0844 871 7646.
