Brave competitors are being invited to step up to the plate and prove they’ve got the stomach in a spicy chicken wing eating competition next month.

A collection of daring and hopefully hungry contenders will descend on The Jam Tree Clapham to test their taste buds and gobble down as many spicy buffalo wings as they can in eight minutes.

The fourth instalment of the eating competition, in association with Jim Beam bourbon, promises to be bigger, better and spicier than ever before as entrants battle to prove their mettle and be crowned King of the Wing on September 17.

Laced with a top secret combination of chilli, Tabasco, and cayenne pepper – these wings are not for the faint-hearted.

The winner will receive a £500 bar tab to spend at the bar in either Clapham or Chelsea and their name immortalised on the illustrious trophy.

But it’s not just glutinous glory that awaits the victor.

The individual who proves they possess a royal constitution will gain legendary status and scoop the coveted King of the Wing title.

Second place is handed a £300 bar tab and third prize is a not to be sniffed at £200 bar tab.

All entrants will receive a limited edition t-shirt for their efforts.

King of the Wing IV is taking place on Thursday September 17 at The Jam Tree Clapham. Competition entry is £12.
