Sword-wielding teen robbers target Mitcham off-licence in late night theft

A sword and large machete were used to rob a Mitcham off-licence on Friday November 13. 

Cigarettes, alcohol and money were stolen by two men, both described as between 16-18 years old.

After entering the shop on Friday evening and one suspect proceeded to threaten the female sales assistant with a large machete whilst his accomplice stole from behind the till.

Police were called to the scene at 23.05 however both men had already fled.

CCTV footage showing the robbery was released today in an attempt to identify the criminals.

The first man is described as wearing a black jacket and shoes while his face is covered.

He was also wearing a backpack which contained a sword and black goggle on his face.

The second machete-wielding suspect was wearing all black and had his face covered aside from a pair of red goggles.

He is described as being slim and approximately 5ft 6ins tall.
