No More Page 3 campaigners vow to ‘fight on’ after The Sun publishes topless woman photo

The Sun today claimed it had had a ‘mammary lapse’ and published a photograph of a topless woman for the first time since the rumoured demise of its Page 3 feature.

The tabloid featured a topless 22-year-old from Bournemouth underneath the heading ‘clarifications and corrections’.

The paper noted: “Further to recent reports in all other media outlets, we would like to clarify that this is Page 3 and this is a picture of Nicole, 22, from Bournemouth.

“We would like to apologise on behalf of the print and broadcast journalists who have spent the last two days talking and writing about us.”

Campaigners, who brand the feature sexist and objectifying, seem undeterred by the latest development.

One No More Page 3 spokesman last night tweeted: “So it seems the fight might be back on.

“Thanks to The Sun for all the publicity they’ve given the campaign.”

Today a spokesman wrote on Facebook: “Well we’ve always liked a bit of drama at No More Page 3 towers! Today Page 3 is back in The Sun. “While we wait to see if this is just a one-off, we can be in no doubt our campaign is causing quite a stir in The Sun’s offices!
