Employee steals 252 iPhone 5s from O2 store

Hundreds of iPhone 5s were stolen from an O2 Shop in Colliers Wood by an employee.

The theft was first realised at 1:30am this morning when the store calculated that a total of 252 iPhone 5s had been stolen, along with money from the safe.

Police have released an image of the man wanted in connection with the crime.

Usman Sethi from Ilford was working as a sales assistant at the O2 Store in the Tandem Centre which had received a batch of iPhone 5’s ready to go on sale this morning at 9am.

An O2 spokesman said: “We can confirm that a number of mobile phones were stolen from one of our retail stores yesterday.

“We notified the police and are doing everything we can to help them with their investigation.”

Sethi is described as an Asian man, 6’1″ in height and of Pakistani origin, who may be driving a grey Ford Mondeo.

Police also want to speak to Sethi regarding the theft of jewellery reported by a family member.
