Chelsea have new ‘Special One’ as survey reveals 20% of children believe Jesus Christ plays for Blues

Jose Mourinho is not the only Special One at Chelsea after a study released yesterday revealed that 20% of children believe Jesus Christ plays for the club.

The survey, commissioned by Netmums, asked 1,000 London children aged five to 12: Who is Jesus Christ? A) A footballer for Chelsea B) The son of God C) A television presenter D) An X-Factor contestant or E) An astronaut.

It seems likely that the perplexed children were confusing the son of God with Manchester City winger Jesus Navas.

The results also showed that 10% were adamant that Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was present in the stable when Jesus was born while a quarter believe that the three wise men found Jesus using Google Maps.

Reverend Chris Palmer, 43, of the Holy Trinity Church in South Wimbledon said: “I am just glad children are being involved in learning about Christmas.

“Everyone will be welcome at their local church this Christmas if they wish to learn more.”
