Body discovered in water at Twickenham shipyard

A body was recovered from the water at a Twickenham shipyard this morning after a member of the public reported the grim discovery to police.

Twickenham officers had been appealing for information as to the whereabouts of Anthony Ojeer, 32, who was last seen on halloween leaving The George Public House on King Street.

At around 10am officers attended Swan Island, a small island in the Thames that is around a 10 minute walk from King Street, to recover the body.

Mr Ojeer’s next-of-kin are aware of the development but formal identification has not taken place and although a postmodern is scheduled to take place the death is not thought to be suspicious.
