Final preparations are underway for the fifth St John’s Hill Festival which will take place this Sunday.

The annual event is promising to be bigger than ever before with a host of entertainment, stalls and performances lined up for a fun family day out.

The festival, which will run from 11 – 5, has prepared a huge bouncy castle for children to enjoy whilst adults may like to try their luck in the raffle or even enjoy a goldfish race.

Banners and posters have been posted in shop windows and along the roadside on St John’s Hill Road to promote the festival.

Clyde Roger, 44, owns a electronics shop on Plough Road where the festival will run, and says the event promises to be full of entertainment for all the family.

“The event is in it’s fifth year running and every year has been a brilliant experience,”he said.

“There’s something for everyone to enjoy and we are all looking forward to it. I just hope we avoid the rain as the weather the past few days has been miserable.”

The festival will run from Plough Road, with stalls set up along St John’s Hill and ending near Haydon Way.
