Wimbledon Light Opera Society presents Curtains: London Oratory School Arts Centre, Fulham

Friday 1 June & Saturday 2 June

Tickets: £13-£16

Kander and Ebb’s last ever musical is a hilarious send-up of backstage murder-mystery plots, fusing classic musicals like Kiss Me Kate and Oklahoma with shows such as Midsomer Murders and Poirot. It is full of fantastically witty lyrics and memorable show-tunes from the golden age of musical theatre, by arguably one of the best musical-writing teams of all time.

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Garden Party: Richmond

Best of British theme menu with Fish and Chips, Eton Mess and Cream Tea – June 5, 1 to 6pm at The Bingham 


Jubilee Jazz Festival: Richmond

June 3 to 4, from 12pm

A varied programme of Jazz, finishing with The Echoes of Ellington Bing Band presenting “The Queen Suite” – each day at Strawberry Hill House. 

 

Mitcham Carnival: Merton, Three Kings Piece, Commonside West

Saturday June 2nd

Events included: Carnival and Jubilee Parade from Figges Marsh to Three King’s Piece, ‘Knights of the Damned’, a jousting stunt team and full size family Fun Fair. There will also be over 120 Charity and Trade stalls, children’s entertainment, a little league tournament and refreshments.


Lighting of the Diamond Jubilee Beacon: Morden Park, Merton

Monday June 4th, 4pm

The aim is to light more than 2012 beacons across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, the Commonwealth and UK Overseas Territories, on Monday 4th June 2012. Mitcham’s beacon will be lit on Monday evening.


Diamond Treasure Hunt: Kings Road, Chelsea

2nd-5th June

The Council is running a Diamond Treasure Hunt on King’s Road for children aged between 5 and 12. Join the on the search for diamonds, which will take in some of the best known names in retail.

Entry forms are available in The Central Library, Hornton Street or Chelsea Library, King’s Road and available to download from the diamond jubilee web page.

 

The Thames Pageant: Kensington and Chelsea

Sunday 3rd June, 2pm-6pm

The Royal Barge will lead a flotilla of around 1000 vessels along 7 miles of the Thames. Boats of all shapes and sizes will assemble between Hammersmith and Battersea, officially starting the pageant up river between Battersea Bridge and Tower Bridge.

 

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations: Kingston Field & Riverside, Woodbridge & Riverside Woodbridge

Monday 4th June

A marquee will be on site for the dance.  Refreshments available to purchase will include a Hog Roast, Fish & Chips, Pizza and licensed bar.  Catering will be provided by The Pavilion Cafe and Prestige Bars.  The evening will culminate along the river wall with the Lighting of the Jubilee Beacon from across the river (between 10 and 10.30 p.m.) and a spectacular Firework Display. 


The Bentall Centre Jubilee Activities: Kingston

Saturday 2nd June 

 Come and pose with The Bentall Centre ‘Palace Guards’ and have your photo taken for FREE by Snappy Snaps. Will you be able to make them crack a smile? If not, then you can always ‘meet and greet’ with our very own Beefeater!


Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant: Hammersmith & Fulham

A flotilla which will extend from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge. The Queen will lead the flotilla which will include boats from across the UK, the Commonwealth and the World.


Hammersmith London BID Street Banner Festival 

Saturday 2nd June – Tuesday 5th June

 Local artists and amateurs designing banners which will then be judged by community representatives. The winning banners will be placed on the borough’s main thoroughfares.  


Diamond Jubilee Festival in Battersea Park

Sunday 3rd June

Unfortunately tickets have now sold out, but those lucky enough to get some will enjoy a wide range of activities and attractions. It will feature different zones dedicated to design, music, fashion, art, film and food from each of the six decades of the Queen’s reign. The royal river pageant will depart at 3pm.
