Purple Rave brings a Funknroll Housequake to Clapham Grand to celebrate Prince

Pop icon Prince will be celebrated in a right royal boogie on down to some of his best musical offerings for die-hard fans at the Clapham Grand tonight.

Courtesy of DJs Rob da Bank and Tayo, this latest rendition of Purple Rave promises to give a perfectly purple pop tribute, including rare b-sides, unreleased music, film screenings and flawless covers.

Following the untimely death of the phenomenal artist earlier this year, the Purple Raves, which have been happening since 2009, have given fans a chance to celebrate the life and talent of the beloved artist.

The event tonight promises to top all previous sessions with a chance to attend the amazing Sign O’ the Times concert from Prince’s acclaimed double album of the same title.

Purple Rave will screen the concert movie that features hits such as Housequake, Strange Relationship, If I was your girlfriend and of course the title track Sign O’ the Times.

Ranked as one of the greatest albums of all times, it is by far Price’s best offering of funky floor fillers, smooth blues and rocking renditions that made the man the icon he undoubtedly is.

Hot Chip’s front man Alexis Taylor will also contribute his ode to Prince with a set following up from the group’s Glastonbury set Hot Chip Remembers Prince.

So tonight You Don’t Have to Be Rich to be there, just a Funknroll Partyman, possibly with a Little Red Corvette, looking to have a Rock and Roll Love Affair with The Most Beautiful Girl in the World in a Raspberry Beret at The Clapham Grand.

Purple Rave starts at 9pm on Friday, October 21 at The Clapham Grand. Advance tickets cost £10 and tickets on the door are £15.
