A new musical from Dolly Parton is coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre this September, as part of this season’s exciting line up.

9 to 5 The Musical, a new comedy based on the hit film, centres on three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical boss.

Featuring the Oscar and Grammy nominated ‘9 to 5’ title song, the show also includes 18 original Parton numbers as the girls conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do.

Natalie Casey, best known as ‘Donna’ in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps will star in the show alongside Bonnie Langford, whose many theatre credits include ‘Roxie Hart’ in Chicago and ‘Charity’ in Sweet Charity.

They will be joined by other leading performers including Jackie Clune, who played the leading role of ‘Mrs Wilkinson’ in Billy Elliot and ‘Donna’ in the International Tour of Mamma Mia, and Amy Lennox who recently played ‘Elle Woods’ in the UK tour of Legally Blonde.

Ben Richards, who played ‘Danny’ in the West End production of Grease and most recently took on the role of ‘Tick’ in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, will also star in the show.

The musical will first open in Manchester as part of the Ambassador Theatre Group’s Manchester Gets it First initiative, and will then spend 6 days at New Wimbledon Theatre, from Monday 22 to Saturday 27 October.

Dolly Parton, one of the greatest selling music artists of all time with around 100 million album sales, wrote the music and lyrics to the show and appeared by video link at New Wimbledon Theatre’s big screen address earlier this month.

“I am so excited that 9 to 5 the Musical is coming to the UK. I’m hoping you have as much fun watching it as I had writing the music for it,” she said.

9 to 5 the Musical is perfect for anyone that’s ever wanted to string up their boss, which is almost all of us. So come join the fun!”

Tickets will be priced between £15-£35 and are available from www.atgtickets.com/wimbledon or via telephone on 0844 871 7646.
