Could your dog be Ma’am’s best friend? Battersea charity launches contest to meet Queen Elizabeth II

One debonair doggy and their owner will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the Queen at Battersea later this month.

The kennels will be officially opened on March 17 and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is launching a competition where one lucky former Battersea resident could help form a doggy guard of honour.

Not only will the winner get the chance to meet our corgi-loving queen but they will also be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the London centre.

To enter, go to Twitter and explain why your Battersea pooch deserves to be a part of this special day including a picture and a video, no longer than 30 seconds, of you both demonstrating your royal wish.

You will need to tag your post @BDCH and use the hashtag #MaamsBestFriend to make sure your entry is counted.

The competition is open until midday on March 6 – the winner will be notified by March 12.
